Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan has been singing since about the time he could walk. He grew up listening to his dad and uncles (with roots in the Tennessee mountains) picking their guitars. Other family members/friends would join in singing along to old country, gospel and bluegrass songs.

Breaking on to the Cincinnati music scene over seven years ago, Dan Varner has built a reputation as one of the most talented, hard-working and original country performers to hit the area in quite some time.
At 6’4”, good humored, warm and sincere, Dan’s stage presence demands attention. Fans and industry insiders agree. Just take a look at Dan’s most recent accolades:
  • Proud member, as an artist, of the CMA
  • Opening act for the following country superstars: Blake Shelton, Kip Moore, Love & Theft, John Michael Montgomery, Charlie Worsham, Josh Gracin, Tracy Lawrence, Craig Morgan, Little Texas, Confederate Railroad, Randy Houser, Jason Michael Carroll and Bucky Covington.

Through 650 live performances, Dan and his band have spent the past few years sharing his songs with new fans across the region. When they are home they can be found performing at local establishments in the southwest Ohio region.

Dan is one of the rare finds in this industry where vocals, songwriting and stage presence come together to offer the “full package.” Combine that with a genuine love and appreciation of the country music tradition and you have a performer who can compete with Nashville’s finest.

Dan has been fortunate to surround himself with multi-talented musicians who form the core of the Dan Varner Band. These are seasoned, professional musicians with a combined 80 years experience in multiple genres including jazz, blues, country, and rock.

In 2003, Dan was offered his first, major, regional performance at Louisville’s popular 4th Street Live concert series. This performance became the first of an unprecedented five year run that culminates with Dan’s 2008 EP release, From Within, produced by Doc Smith.

Dan Varner is winning over fans nationwide with his original music and live, dynamic performances. Doc Smith, manager and CEO/President of WiseSmith Management sums Dan’s budding career up nicely:

“Dan Varner will be “THE” country music artist that will, and can fill, the shoes of the legends of yes-ter-years.”

Over the years Mark’s musical journey has taken him from one end of the music spectrum to the other. As tastes in music change and rearrange, Mark found himself with a revitalized passion for country music. After spending several years in a successful country act, Mark has found a new home with The Dan Varner Band.

Jeff Price

Jeff fell in love with music at a young age. As a child he wouldspend hours on his Grandmother’s front porch in Monticello,KY, honing his guitar skills with his favorite cousin, Benny(later in his adult life Jeff and Benny had the privilege of playing together in a round at the well-known songwriter’s café in Nashville called The Commodore). His progression through the music world is a typical one. Over the years he found himself wondering the maze of would-be bands, until one day, the band he was playing with needed a drummer. His willingness to accept a challenge allowed a star to be born. After several years working as a drummer, Jeff decided to step away, but it wasn’t long before the itch of playing called him back. Upon his return, Jeff joined a successful local rock band. He enjoyed his time with this band, but there was something about the modern country sound he heard on local radio that made him question if rock is what he should be playing. Jeff decided to make the jump, trying out and landing a spot with a successful country band. After several years, that act disbanded and once again it looked like Jeff was headed back into the dreaded maze. As fate would have it, Jeff landed firmly on his feet, accepting the role of drummer for the Dan Varner Band.
